Coach Topher LaRussa

Hi, I’m Topher!  Currently, I am head coach of University of Alabama Men’s club soccer and Northridge Men's Varsity Head Coach. I was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. When I was a child, my passion for soccer began. I lived and breathed soccer.  Since then, my love and passion for the game has grown to include  my love for coaching the game.

When it comes to my soccer experience, I’ve played high level soccer my whole career. I played for teams competing in MLS Next, ECNL, and Division 1. On top of that, I had the honor of training with European former La Liga Club, Sporting Gijon's youth academy.

My coaching style is situated around the idea of love for the game. In my opinion, the more you enjoy what you do, the easier it is to master it. My goal with every player I coach is to pass on my love of the game to the next generation.
